My mom and dad have always been there for me and it instilled the importance of family in me. Meeting my wife brought me to Texas and now we have 3 beautiful kids that definitely keep life interesting.
The problem solving and human-focused nature of design has always appealed to me. I have also been fortunate to learn from and collaborate with so many brilliant and creative people throughout my career. To this day, I love being able to create and make things that people love. Witnessing the “a-ha” moment. Seeing the smile on someone’s face when they use something you had a hand in, feels good.
The original trilogy (Episodes 4,5, & 6) is the Star Wars of my childhood. Han shot first and the Millenium Falcon will always be able to make the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs. Star Wars showed me the power of imagination and taught me that winning is possible no matter the odds. Like Han Solo said, “never tell me the odds.”
I still remember my first time walking into a comic book shop and seeing Wolverine, The X-Men, Punisher War Journal, and The Dark Knight. The characters, the stories, the art. What was there not to like? Reading all of those stories brought me into the comic book universe, but it also showed me how compelling a good story can be.
